Greenfield is the hub of Franklin
County. Located at the cross roads of two major highways, it offers a complete
infrastructure with restaurants, gas stations, shopping, seasonal activities and more.
Numerous cafes
and restaurants line the downtown street. The architecture along Main Street is a local
testimony to the dynamics of a growing nation over decades of change.
The Franklin County Chamber of Commerce is
very active in providing fun-filled activities that draw thousands of people. The Green
River Festival has hot-air balloons, music and vendors as well as peaceful surroundings in
which to celebrate the season.
An historic
landmark in Greenfield is the Poet's Seat Tower which overlooks Greenfield to the West and
the Connecticut River Valley to the East. This is a great place to watch the seasons
unfold, much like the poets and writers enjoyed many years past.
The All Souls Church offers music to the
public every Wednesday at noontime during summer.
