CT River Valley & Shoreline

CONNECTICUT RIVER VALLEY & SHORELINE has unspoiled beaches, deep forest, castles, riverboats and steam trains. It has wonderful towns & attractions, and we encourage you to explore them all. Here are a few of the many things to do and enjoy:

Castle Craig stands on a high cliff in Hubbard Park in Meriden and affords a panoramic view of the Metacomet Ridge all the way to Long Island Sound.

The "Becky Thatcher" Riverboat sails the Connecticut River from Deep River to the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, as part of the Essex Steam Train & Riverboat experience.

The Goodspeed Opera House, home of American Musical Theater, has stood on the banks of the Connecticut River since 1876.

The Outer Light standing guard at the mouth of the Connecticut River where it empties into Long Island Sound.

Children walking along the water at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison.

A fife and drum unit marches in the huge parade preceding the annual Deep River Muster, held each year on the third Saturday of July in Deep River.
